Middle and extremes
We never exist but between. Between borders which delimit our epistemological and pragmatic possibilities. It is there, in our `middle', between `extremes', between Alpha and Omega, that we exist. It is there that we know and act. It is there that our science and our technology spread out. It is there that we build and organize our world.

Like a `bubble' floating on infinity, such is the scientific reason. Its spherical coherence occupies the vast space of the middle. The extremes are excluded from it. However, it is impossible to reduce them to silence. But how can you really understand the medium without its extremes? Which is the reason of the reason? Such a question gives criticism very short notice. It marks an impotent stop because such a question overflows the possibility of the reason itself and opens a gaping infinity. Here is the reason seized of giddiness. However such a question does not have anything irrational.

To seek the reason is however a questioning which is identified with the reason itself. Why then this impotent giddiness? The reason, indeed, touches here a radical discrepancy. It is questioning about reasons ad infinitum, it is critical and critical of criticism ad infinitum, it is a possibility conquering ad infinitum. At the same time the infinite opening of its act butts against the tautological fence of its proper being: the reason of the reason it is the reason itself. There is the reason. Its foundation springs over the natural rational fence. There is an irreducible otherness beyond the questioning. The reason of the reason. The reason of the being… and of the being of the being…
