Speech
and 'language'
Once become
a structuralist object of science, the linguistic reality aims to be
constituted methodologically in autonomy. With the report 'man
speaks' substitutes quickly the axiom 'there is language'. This slip,
apparently inoffensive, makes however an
attempt on man if it promotes
a scientific methodology instead of philosophy. And this slip came
soon. Speech was brought back and reduced to language. Language
brought back and reduced to the structure. The 'other' dimension
finally brought back and reduced to the 'same' one!
What a curious flirt with nothing!
Sign of a time where man cannot survive authentically
any more after having broken
his ontological bonds, after having lost the signified and proclaimed
the decline of absolutes, of sense and of value. Sign of a time when
man dies after having made God die… Remains the signifier, naked
and Foolish. Turning in neutral finiteness.
When
you lose man, when the sense of man gets lost, you are ready to
prostitude him with the ideological residues of a simple method. Here
the loss of faith in man is the concrete 'alibi' of structural
neutrality. When breath is missing, you have to find an expedient.
But here the question is a making up or of demolishing of man
himself. And your capability is only that of a method. When the
possibility of man on man does not any more exceed
that of a tool, you have just
methodology left to be your absolute and you are invited to buckle
yourself in ideology. What is valid on the level of a phenomenon is
extended to be valid for the whole of reality. The only
methodological
and scientific reduction is
ideologically promoted to be an absolute reduction. Man is just that…

The animal Eros always tends towards a 'something' already given. The
human Eros can tend towards where there is yet nothing. As if the
essence of the world were in the interstices of the world. As if the
main part of the things was between the things. As if the essence of
the text were between the lines. A world infinitely articulable
according to infinitely new significances becomes available ad
infinitum, in what it is and in what it can be, in its immediate
materiality and in the opening of this materiality as a symbol and
sign.
